Join me (Erynn) for this cozy guided art session during the week of a rare Blue Moon where we will paint native species of foraged mushrooms from the local forest on a black background with a moon/stars. Stencil shapes for moons will be provided!
In this 2 hour art class we will go over traditional scientific illustration techniques, color theory and tricks for painting light and shadow when portraying an organic subject. I will also be teaching some of their favorite tips and tricks they’ve learned from painting fungi for the last 5 years! Students will use mushroom specimen ethically foraged from the local forest as subjects. This class will be beginner oriented but all skill levels are welcome to attend. Choose your own background color, add species or morphology label, the moon, moss or stars by the end of the class you will go home with a finished roughly 5 x 7 inch unique mushroom illustration of your own.
All art supplies will be provided including loose canvas, paint, brushes, glass palettes and water but please feel free to bring your own nature journal, sketchbook, preferred supplies.
