Spring Mushrooms Painting Class- 5/21
✶ Thursday May 21st from 6pm - 8pm(ish) ✶
Happy Spring foraging season! Join me (Erynn) for this two hour art class where we will go over how to approach painting a native mushroom species with acrylic paint. This will be a cozy guided art session that will include traditional scientific illustration techniques, color theory and tricks for painting light and shadow when portraying an organic subject. I will also be teaching some of my favorite tips and tricks I’ve learned from painting fungi for the last 5 years!
Students will use mushroom specimen ethically foraged from the local forest myself as subjects. This class will be beginner oriented but all skill levels are welcome to attend. By the end of the class you will go home with a finished roughly 5 x 7 inch label (common and scientific name) mushroom illustration of your own.
All art supplies will be provided including loose canvas, paint, brushes, glass palettes and water but please feel free to bring your own nature journal, sketchbook, preferred supplies.
12 person limit.
Location: Leaf & Quiet, 235 North 1st St. W, Suite F, Missoula, Montana 59802
All inclusive space
Bring Your Own Drinks! Or Tea by Missoula Tea Company, Wine or La Croix available.
Free street and lot parking
If you have any questions please reach out to me (Erynn) at upmosscreek@gmail.com
