✶ Thursday April 30th, 2026 from 6pm - 8pm(ish) ✶

During the evening of the Full Flower Moon join me (Erynn) for a 2 hour painting class where we will create a dark botanical illustration of a flower, green leafy plant or succulent of your choosing on a black background with a phase of the moon and/or stars. Stencils for moon shapes will be provided!

This will be a cozy guided art session that will include traditional scientific illustration techniques, how to paint light on top of dark, color theory and the benefits of dark negative space when portraying an organic subject. Class will start with students choosing a plant from around the store as reference, followed by step by step guidance in between focused painting. By the end of the class you will go home with a finished roughly 5 x 7 inch dark naturalism illustration of your own.

This class will be beginner oriented but all skill levels are welcome to attend!

All art supplies will be provided including pre-painted and distressed black watercolor paper, paint, brushes, glass palettes and water but please feel free to bring your own nature journal, sketchbook or preferred supplies.
