Dark Mycology Painting Class ✶ Oct 30th

Thursday October 30th from 6pm - 8pm(ish)

In this cozy guided art session Erynn of Up Moss Creek Studio will go over how to approach painting a native mushroom species with acrylic paint. This 2 hour art class will go over traditional scientific illustration techniques, color theory and tricks for painting light and shadow when portraying an organic subject. Erynn will also be teaching some of their favorite tips and tricks they’ve learned from painting fungi for the last 5 years! Students will use mushroom specimen ethically foraged from the local forest as subjects. This class will be beginner oriented but all skill levels are welcome to attend. Choose your own background color, add species or morphology label, the moon, moss or stars by the end of the class you will go home with a finished roughly 5 x 7 inch unique mushroom illustration of your own.

All art supplies will be provided including loose canvas, paint, brushes, glass palettes and water but please feel free to bring your own nature journal, sketchbook, preferred supplies.

10 person limit.

Mature children ages 10 and up may attend with an accompanying adult!
