✶ Thursday November 13th from 6pm - 8:30pm(ish) ✶
In this 2.5 hour guided art session students will paint a specimen of their choosing with acrylic paint, this may include a plant from Leaf & Quiet, mushrooms, moss or lichen foraged from the local forest, and other found organic objects. The class will begin with traditional scientific illustration techniques including color theory and painting light and shadow when portraying an organic subject. Most of the class will be spent working intimately with the specimen of your choosing with the teacher there to answer questions. This class will be beginner oriented but all skill levels are welcome to attend. Choose your own background color, add labels, the moon or stars, by the end of the class you will go home with a finished roughly 6 x 8 inch unique scientific illustration of your own.
All art supplies will be provided including loose canvas, paint, brushes, glass palettes and water but please feel free to bring your own nature journal, sketchbook, preferred supplies.
