✶ Thursday December 11th from 6pm - 8:00(ish) ✶
In this two hour art class students will create their own mini botanical painting, including painting a small resin frame for their piece! We will use plants from the store as references as well as moss and lichen from the local forest. This will be a cozy guided art session that will include traditional scientific illustration techniques with a focus on color theory to create natural tones and tricks for painting light and shadow when portraying an organic subject. Students will be encouraged to choose their own background and frame color and add whimsical elements that speak to them. This class will be beginner oriented but all skill levels are welcome to attend. By the end of the class you will go home with a finished framed mini painting roughly 3 inches by 4 inches.
Frames will be provided but feel free to bring your own frame or find a cool on at the thrift!
All art supplies will be provided including loose canvas, paint, brushes, glass palettes and water but please feel free to bring your own preferred supplies.
